Trent ReNEW is a partnership project between the Environment Agency, Staffordshire Wildlife Trust and Support Staffordshire. The project will focus on two catchments within the Staffordshire Trent Valley landscape: The River Sow through Stafford and the Trent headwaters through Stoke-on-Trent. The project aims to mitigate against previous actions to manage flood risk which has led to ongoing detrimental impacts on these two watercourses.
We will prioritise the following areas:
– River Sow between the Doxey Brook and River Penk in Stafford – Ford Green Brook, Stoke-on-Trent – Fowlea Brook, Stoke-on-Trent – River Trent between the Ford Green Brook and the Fowlea Brook in Stoke-on-Trent
We will carry out a number of activities to deliver measures to mitigate against previous actions to manage flood risk, which has led to detrimental impacts on the local environment. This project aims to protect water bodies from deterioration and deliver measurable water quality improvements.
