In 2020 we provided a grant of £1,999.25 to the Rugeley Power Station Angling Club to offer angling taster sessions to tackle loneliness and isolation during and after Covid.
“The individuals who took part in the project all benefited from the social interaction and the ability to partake in a structured course, looking forward to each individual session. Anecdotal evidence from individuals suggested that they have struggled due to the lockdown, and knowing they can meet up with like minded individuals has made a vast improvement to their outlook and general well-being.”
A subsequent grant of £3,691 has been awarded to continue this successful angling project.
Between 2019 and 2023, Zero Carbon Rugeley have been working in partnership with the residents of Rugeley to create an innovative ‘Smart Local Energy System’ for the town and new development on the power station site.
